2.19 Font (p. 44)
Current APA Style permits various fonts, as long as they are legible and widely accessible to everyone. However, they also advise checking with publishers, instructors or institutions for further font requirements. Because previous APA editions recommended 12-point Times New Roman, this remains the most common APA font. Regardless of font choice, be sure to use the same font throughout.

2.21 Line Spacing (p. 45)
While APA Style allows exceptions for specific aspects of the title page, tables, images, footnotes, and equations, most APA work should be double-spaced. For instructions on how to change the line spacing in MS Word, see this article. Be sure to set the line spacing to double.

There should be no blank lines or extra space between paragraphs. For instructions on how to change the paragraph spacing in MS Word, see this article. Be sure to set the paragraph spacing before and after to 0 pt.

2.22 Margins (p. 45)
Use 1-in (2.54-cm) margins on all sides. For instructions on how to change the margins in MS Word, see this article.

2.23 Paragraph Alignment (p. 45)
Align all text to the left and leave the right margin unchanged. DO NOT USE FULL JUSTIFICATION. For instructions on how to change the paragraph alignment in MS Word, see this article.

2.24 Paragraph Indentation (pp. 45-46)
Indent the first line of every paragraph 0.5 in. For instructions on how to indent the first line of a paragraph in MS Word, see this article.
